Truly hope the list helps people since this is a common problem. It is best to do this while you have disabled "Build Automatically". If that's the case, remove it, so that your project will resolve R not with the default Android Resources class, but with the one auto-generated from your /res/ folder. Definitely you are changing the strings.xml for your own requirement.

After deleting icon.html, you can clean or just delete the gen folder.
