You need to look in the purge unit and see if there is a scrap of paper or any other foreign object visible. But still I get the 6A00 error message.inkdrinker - inkdrinker 0 thank you all, I found a piece of paper in there as well- Error code GONE! The printer works again! The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down.
There was a paper clip sitting in there with ink all over it. so I can look more closely... It might have come off of an ink cartridge. So the outer shell comes off ??? The print head for this machine goes for around $150. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freddy M.

I went to use it the other day turned it on and had the dreaded orange flashing. Remove cartridges, lift the cartridge locking cover and lift it out. chirantha7777 70 566 visningar 6:44 Canon Pixma iP4700 / iP4600 in den Service-Modus schicken - Längd: 1:04.

You will get inky fingers...but your printer WILL work again! The plugging and unplug of the printer power allowed the print heads to adjust and then began to cycle properly... No lights on the ink tank were on or were blinking. I then did some maintenance cleaning (which was long overdue). - Anonymous THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Anyway thanks to this forum I'm back up and running again after a simple fix. I see a lot of people bashing Canon, but as long as it's under warranty, they replace it quickly. After some thought I replaced this bar in the rear-most part of the sqeegie where it acts as a keeper for one of the film wipers. Makes us wonder how many Canon printers are tossed out each year because of a minor "cleaning" issue.
I thank you for any time taken to help me out. A whole new problem, new suggestions anyone? Learn more You're viewing YouTube in Swedish.

Everyone's postings were of great help. You have done all that you could without taking the cover. Again look for some scrap of paper or paper clip, staple or anything that could have made its way into the unit. It was still under warranty so Canon quickly sent me a full replacement (Printer #2).
The mechanism is usually a tiny lever that is either connected to a push button type switch or a light sensor type switch. Just to mention a couple of things. Nothing will fix it.However I think the most likely cause is a blocked printhead that the printers cleaning system can't clear. Out of nowhere, my printer stopped printing.
But I stress with care. by Anonymous on Jul 25, 2009 at 10:33pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have tried everything mentioned here, aside from tearing down my cover...no jam, I cleaned I slid the ink cartridges to the left, dug around in the mechanics at the right, and found an enormous paper clip! After reading this post, I poked around a little and got it to clear.
Read these notes and, wow, you guys are brilliant! No easy answers on the net so I took it apart myself. Didn't even get inky fingers. If you can see it you can also see if its doing its job by opening and closing the cover and watching to see if its moving as well.
